Browsealoud Text Help

Browsealoud is a free tool that speech enables website content. It will assist our web users to navigate the GMITA website.

This software offers practical website access to people with reading difficulties and also for those who find it easier listening to, rather than reading website content. It is useful for people who have:

  • low literacy and reading skills
  • English as their second language
  • Dyslexia
  • mild visual impairment

Download Browsealoud

By selecting the link above you can download the Browsealoud software onto your computer. This software is free to use and requires no registration. This then allows you to hear the text on our website in the spoken word.

Once you have downloaded the software you can simply go to any website that is speech enabled with Browsealoud and use either your mouse or keyboard to select the text that you want to be read aloud. It will read the text to you one sentence at a time.

You can make changes to the way you receive this speech enabled text - setting the type of voice, its pitch, speed and volume to your own preferences.
